North Wollongong Surf Life Saving Club is one of the better known clubs in the Illawarra and enjoys a premier location at beautiful North Beach in Wollongong. With over 100 years of service keeping the swimming and surfing public safe, the club continues to focus on patrol activities with our volunteer lifesavers patrolling North beach 12 months of the year. Our dedicated patrol members have ensured that no lives have been lost on our beach during patrol hours. We are also proud of our great competition record where our club continues to produce Australian, State and Branch Gold medalists. In addition to patrol, lifesaving training, and competition, we are very much a family oriented club with junior activities (Sandpipers) and social events for our members and their families.
The club facilities include a fully equipped gym, training room, change rooms and an administration office, boat shed, first aid room, bar, and function hall.
North Wollongong SLSC is active all year round with the summer season from late September to the end of March the following year being our most busy time.
We are always looking for people who would like to join our community. If you are interested in becoming a patrolling member, we are very keen to hear from you, and can provide you with the necessary surf lifesaving training. There are also plenty of other non-patrol volunteer roles within the club, and your help would be much appreciated.
Throughout the website you can find further information on becoming a member, volunteering, surf lifesaving, and Nippers.
