Since the early 1900s, the beach has been a much-loved Australian past time, so it is no surprise that it was in Australia that the world's first Surf Life Saving club emerged, growing to become very much a part of our national identity. Established in 1908, North Wollongong Surf Life Saving Club was one of the earlier clubs and we take immense pride in our impeccable safety record.
North Wollongong SLSC continues in its commitment to the safety of the beach-going public. The club provides lifesaving education and training leading to various qualifications; weekend and public holiday patrols; water safety and rescue; and basic first aid.
